Halloween 2010

Happy Halloween. We made it. Aren't they adorable? I am pretty proud of myself that I was able to make Ben's costume without one "stitch" of sewing knowledge. We had a busy day. They boys had a great time and are ready to sell all of their candy to their dentist tomorrow. We ended the day with a pumpkin pizza and orange dinner.

Game Time

Before all of our friends in Iowa read this post- NO-we have not traded teams. We are and always will be Panther fans. BUT we had a great opportunity to attend a Notre Dame game and we jumped on it. Life IS all about experiences and we felt this would be a great one. Notice Kevin on the phone? Yep. He is checking with our friend Brian on the score of the UNI game. Notre Dame stadium IS impressive, and loud and crowded but we had a great time and we had great weather. And- we had a great experience!

Picking Out Pumpkins

Yesterday, we made our annual trek ( pretty much around the corner, on the way to the kids' school) to the pumpkin patch. We love this place for so many reasons. It is very small (someones front yard) There is no food. They have everything the kids need: a fort, bunnies, other animals like dogs and cats, and of course pumpkins. Plus we feel good going somewhere smaller, who we know appreciates our business. We have them carved and lit. Life is good.

Back from Indy

We are back from our trip to Indianapolis. We had fun at the Children's Museum and not so much fun at our very long appointment at Riley. Ben (and Gabe too!) did such an amazing job during the doctors visit that they were rewarded with a trip to the Children's museum. We spent most of the afternoon wandering around looking at and exploring all of the exhibits. We decided to head back late Thursday, so we could enjoy our Friday relaxing at home. We did stay in our PJ's until around 2 when we decided we better go pick out pumpkins. Pictures of that soon....

Whew!!!!!

We made it through a very crazy week this week. It was filled with fun, friends and Fall Camp out for Ben.
Kevin and Ben left on Friday and returned on Sunday. Beneath the filth on their faces, they both had big smiles. Kevin's smile was simply because he survived. Ben's was from the amount of fun he had. He came home carrying a medal from winning Fastest Bear in the obstacle course. He was so proud!!!!
Gabe was VERY busy this weekend attending 3 birthday parties, playing a soccer game as well as his first football game. He also went to Red Robin where of course he played and won at the claw game. Whew! is all I can say!

I love Wrestling

Gabe wanted to wrestle on his new mat today and well, Kevin was gone, so because I LOVE my child really, really love him, I wrestled. I am not sure what was more painful, the actual wrestling or trying to get that singlet off my body. Gabe told me next time a need to loose the pink shirt, it is just not scary enough. He also said, after seeing this picture that, it is not boxing, it is wrestling!!!!

I Caved!!!!!

This truck delivered a dream for Kevin and made two other boys VERY happy. I have to say, I was not thrilled at first BUT when I saw the excitement for the male occupants of the house, I was excited for them. Sooo- as the only female residing at my address, I just smiled at tried to figure out, how I am going to DECORATE a WRESTLING room!!!!! We are still waiting for the wall mats, and we need to put in a fan for the male stink, but when Kevin unrolled the mat, he sure had a big smile!!! The boys immediately got on their wrestling gear and went crazy! Oh Yeah-I forgot to mention this thing is 17x12-these pictures do not give it justice- it is BIG

Reality

A friend made a comment to me today about the very warm weather we have been having. By making that simple comment I told her she has now put us at risk for THIS!!!!!! The boys, waiting for the bus, were looking across the street Ben started making recommendations for Christmas decorations. So NOW we know THIS is coming. So, what do you think I did this afternoon? Well of course I went Christmas shopping. For those of you who do not know "the secret" THIS IS THE TIME! I know many of you would rather not think about it BUT, all the stores are making room, and getting rid of things Cheap- Now!!! Just a thought. By the way it was 88 here yesterday!
